Johnny Chan
Johnny Chan is one of the best poker players of all time. He won the World Series of Poker two years in a row, 1987 and 1988, and play heads-up for the title in 1989, but lost to Phil Hellmuth. Chan’s second victory is a true poker classic – holding the nut straight he tricked Erik Seidel into moving in with a pair of queens. This moment has been immortalized in the movie Rounders. Chan is known for keeping an orange in front of him during tournaments. Some think it’s for luck, but Chan claims that he enjoys the smell and that it combats the smell of cigarette smoke that is common at many tournaments.

Quote: "The higher I play, the better I am. That's where the skill kicks in. When I play in the smaller games, my skill is no good. And in this business you have to be at the top of your game."
Poker fans about Johnny Chan: "Johnny Chan is a great poker player, undoubtedly one of the best in the world. But I agree with those who say that he is too aggressive at times. But then again, every poker player has flaws. Chan is the man."

"Intimidating is an understatement when it comes to Johnny Chan. He brings an aura to the poker table that kills his opponents on sight. And I just love his orange."

"Chan's record speaks for itself, two WSOP wins in a row and a final table the third time is absolutely amazing. Johnny talks about having great instincts and being tremendously dangerous but to be honest, Chan pretty poorly on his TV showing at the WSOP. He made several big mistakes."
