Poker Tip # 9
One of the often overlooked advantages you can benefit from is to sit at the seat where you are most comfortable. Unless there are other considerations for you, the best seat is directly across from the dealer, as that is where you have the best view of the table and the cards dealt. This seating is extremely important in a game such as 7 card stud where you need to see the other players cards clearly.
Often when joining an existing game you do not have much choice as to seating; however, let the dealer know you would like the first available seat in the center. When that seat opens, immediately throw a poker chip to that location on the table and state to the dealer that you are shifting seats.
You will find that this will add much to your enjoyment of the game plus improve your game, your confidence and your winnings.
